These homemade choc chip cookies are the perfect way to start the holiday season with a smile on your face and a new treat to share!
Ingredients: 4 cups all-purpose flour 1/4 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup cocoa powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/3 cup melted unsalted butter 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 egg 1 cup of confectioners’ sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder 2 tablespoons melted unsweetened coconut oil, melted Directions: Preheat oven to 325°F (177°C).
Grease or flour two 9-inch round cookie pans.
In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, butter, vanilla, egg and cinnamon until well blended.
In another small bowl mix the dry ingredients together and then add the wet ingredients together.
Slowly mix in the melted butter and vanilla until completely incorporated.
Spoon batter evenly into the prepared cookie pans, making sure to evenly distribute.
Bake for 15 minutes, or until the tops are lightly browned and the cookies are firm.
Let cool on a wire rack before frosting.
Recipe Notes: If you are looking for a less sweet treat, substitute a cup of water for the chocolate chips and you’ll end up with something more like these homemade choco chip cookies.
